SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
"The congress is going green" - against the background of this idea, the organizer has established a concept under the auspices of the scientific sponsor DOC e.V. to make the DOC more sustainable.
This starts with sustainable travel by means of a discounted DB congress ticket, behind which is the ecological idea of reducing the print run and is continued with the support of Nürnberg Messe and with the involvement of the service providers.
Each speaker/chairman, participant and exhibitor will be provided with a free ticket to use public transportation within Nuremberg for the DOC to reduce the burden.
Cooperation with PRIMAKLIMA e.V. to compensate the personal CO2 footprint
Congress travel produces greenhouse gases. The journey to and from the event in particular, but also the means of transport on site, have an impact on our personal carbon footprint. Air travel is particularly significant in this respect. Travel is therefore most sustainable if the destination can be reached without an airplane but, for example, by train.
DOC would like to offer all participants and exhibitors the possibility to compensate the CO2 emissions caused by their arrival/departure by means of certified projects of the PRIMAKLIMA association.
For orientation, you will find the emitted amount of CO2 as an example:
A return flight from Nuremberg to Hamburg or Berlin corresponds to approx. 0.49 t. You are welcome to use the calculator under the following link and calculate the compensation in EURO:
https://primaklima.CO2-rechner.de/de_DE/mobility-travel#panel-calc2-fussabdruck/?no_cache=1
To travel by your own car, multiply the average fuel consumption of your car per 100 kilometers by 2,370 for gasoline and 2,650 for diesel and divide by 100. I.e. with an average consumption of 6 liters for gasoline, the CO2 emission is 142 gr/km.
With your registration you can donate the calculated compensation amount. This amount will be transferred 1:1 to the PRIMAKLIMA e.V. association after the congress.
The speakers/chairs will be provided with a corresponding certificate digitally.

This is already being implemented at DOC e.V. and MCN!

Consumption/Caféteria
- Pay attention to sustainability when purchasing your consumer products. - 100% of the hot meals offered in the cafeteria are vegetarian or vegan
